Scientific Support Job Offer

HiWi: Content Creation and Knowledge Management (f/m/d)

We are looking for a content creator for our internal CISPA Wiki to join the Empirical Research Support team.

The Empirical Research Support team assists researchers at CISPA to conduct empirical studies (e.g., user studies on cybersecurity). At the same time, we build central infrastructure of the center for conducting empirical/behavioral information security research and bring the related methodology to CISPA researchers. This also includes the preparation and dissemination of knowledge using our internal knowledge management system, the CISPA Wiki.

How you are going to support us

You plan and create Wiki articles in coordination with the Empirical Research Support Team. This mainly includes taking care of the support section of our survey software. You will also plan and produce video tutorials and workshops to help colleagues get started with the software. In addition to creating overview and help materials, you are also responsible for the FAQ section and answer user questions about our survey software.

What you bring to the table

Know-How

  • You have first experience (whether private or professional/study-related) in the creation of digital content for the purpose of knowledge transfer and want to develop your skills in this area.

  • You communicate clearly, can prepare your own knowledge didactically and pass it on efficiently.

  • You can communicate effectively in English and German.

  • First experience with survey and questionnaire tools is welcome

General conditions

  • You are currently enrolled at a German university.

  • You have at least six months to support us.

  • You would like to work with us between 8 and 19 hours/week.

Mindset

  • You are self-motivated and willing to take responsibility for the design and further development of the support area of our survey software.

  • You work conscientiously, independently and in a structured manner and find it easy to get involved with different questions.

  • You are able to put yourself in the shoes of others and have a feeling for what information different target groups need.

What we offer

Work in an open, creative and international research and work environment where your ideas/solutions have a direct positive impact on the work of your colleagues. You will also have the opportunity to get to know the processes in a renowned research institute first-hand and to learn what specific challenges are posed in this environment for the creation of digital content for the purpose of knowledge transfer. To ensure that your studies, part-time job and private life fit together, we offer you flexible working hours that take your individual situation into account. After consultation, you can also work from outside Saarbrücken/St. Ingbert if you do not live locally (a residence in Germany is still mandatory)

How to apply

Our application procedure consists of two steps.

+++Please upload your current enrolment certificate under  "CV" and the other document under "Cover Letter"+++

For the first step, you just upload a current enrollment certificate and another document that contains the following:

  • An email address where we can contact you.

  • What name you would like to be addressed by (including pronouns).

  • Whether you prefer to communicate in English or German.

  • The earliest date you could start working for us.

  • A brief description of your experience (e.g., blogging, social media, thesis work) that you feel is relevant to the advertised position.

We do not require a cover letter or CV for your application!

+++Please upload your current enrolment certificate under  "CV" and the other document under "Cover Letter"+++

As soon as we receive your documents, we will look at them and give you feedback by the end of the following calendar week at the latest.

In the second step, we invite you to an online interview to get to know you better. You will also receive a task for this interview and will then have approximately one week to complete this task before the online interview. The task should take a maximum of 1-2 hours to complete. You will receive more information about this in our response to your application. Just so much in advance, it will be about the creation of a concept for an exemplary Wiki page in English.

After the interview, we will give you feedback by the end of the following calendar week at the latest.

We will consider all applications received until the position is filled.
