Scientific Talent Acquisition Specialist (m/f/x)

The CISPA Helmholtz Center for Information Security is a major federal research institution within the Helmholtz Association. The scientists research information security in all its facets. They conduct cutting-edge basic research as well as innovative application-oriented research and work on pressing challenges in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and data protection. CISPA research results find their way into industrial applications and products that are available worldwide. In this way, CISPA strengthens the competitiveness of Germany and Europe. It also promotes talent and is a cadre for excellently trained specialists and managers for industry. In this way, CISPA also carries its know-how into the future.

As part of the Science Support at CISPA, the activities of the Department Scientific Talent Acquisition & Management span from promoting cybersecurity topics to young people, attracting excellent researchers from across the world to CISPA, to making sure new colleagues have a good start, and working towards staying in touch with colleagues who take on new challenges elsewhere. 
The team particularly dedicated to scientific talent acquisition is looking for a another highly-motivated team member, who supports the further development of a CISPA-wide talent acquisition concept and derives, plans and implements target group-, subject- and country-specific talent acquisition measures.

Your future area of responsibility

  • Actively approaching prospective students and candidates who are pursuing or are interested in an academic career in CISPA-relevant research areas
  • Visiting universities in Germany and abroad to establish contacts with local students, student councils and academic advisors
  • Organizing/coordinating (and optionally hosting) recruiting & networking events, for instance, in the context of international scientific conferences
  • Representation and presentation of CISPA at career events with a scientific focus and events with CISPA partners
  • Coordinating with external service providers (e.g., in the context of marketing campaigns)
  • Creating information material for the relevant target groups, as well as presentations for the above-mentioned events
  • Advising and assisting CISPA researchers with advertising scientific positions
  • Establishing a network for the targeted distribution of information on vacant positions and events
  • Developing and supporting the alumni management at CISPA
  • Leading and/or supporting yet undefined projects, and coordinating their implementation with the relevant CISPA departments

Your profile

  • Successfully completed university degree, MBA or doctorate
  • Relevant experience in recruiting, personnel marketing; ideally in the context of science and/or IT security & computer science
  • Strong interest in the research areas of CISPA and willingness to familiarize yourself with topics of IT security, AI/ML, etc.
  • Knowledge of the international academic job market, as well as disciplinary specifics are an advantage
  • Willingness to travel internationally
  • Excellent English language skills, and German skills at a level that enable you to navigate the German administrative landscape
  • Team spirit, organizational talent and initiative
  • Committed, outgoing, culturally sensitive personality and a solution-oriented way of working
  • Experience with MS Office programs and motivation to work with project management tools, etc.
